This is the personal directory/portfolio website of Timothy O'Connell: unless otherwise indicated, I am the author or developer of all of the content contained or refered to herein. |
About Me
I am an IT professional with a master's degree in religious studies. I am originally from Chicago, IL, and I have held various IT jobs--freelance Windows helpdesk, Linux sysadmin, QA, Django developer and technical project manager--at small and medium-sized shops in Illinois and Maryland.Since June of 2009, I have lived in the DC/NOVA area; I currently live in Silver Spring, MD.
From 2006 to 2009, I ran an independent record label and recording studio in Chicago called Tyranny Belle Records. While managing the studio full-time, I produced six full-length albums for a handful of different artists, co-developed and implemented a digital subscribership program for fans of those artists and contributed numerous performances on an assortment of instruments to a variety of recording projects.
About My Portfolio
The focus and content of this portfolio are subject to change with my professional needs. While I was working as a sysadmin, the focus of this site was on links to sysadmin resources; when I was doing web development, the focus was on showcasing my development work.Since I have moved into project management and system design, the links to sysadmin resources have all but vanished and the development showcase has been pared down substantially. If you encounter a dead link or a dead end, please contact me personally and I will be happy to provide a tarball of redacted source or an explanation (as appropriate).
Contacting Me
txt/SMS 'toconnell' to 50500 for complete contact info.Otherwise, email works best. I try to keep an eye on Twitter, but attempting to get in touch through social networking sites (e.g. LinkedIn) is unlikely to meet with much success, as I tend to maintain only a minimal, business-card type presence on such sites.
Thanks
Additional thanks to Nate Winter and Trevor Turk.Technical Notes
